This course prepares students for entry level accounting careers and for studying college level business courses. Accounting is a course that is applicable and versatile in everyday life, as you learn how to handle banking needs such as maintaining a checking account and reconciling a bank statement, as well as gaining experience in managing vital business records.

This course introduces students to the study of business and personal law and teaches how the law affects them as a student, a minor, a citizen, and a consumer. This course explores topics such as civil law, criminal law, contract law, consumer law, juvenile law, and family law. Students develop their knowledge of law through use of case studies, legal vocabulary notebooks, cooperative workgroups, worksheets and study guides, and a final group-teaching project using a Power Point media presentation. This course assists students in developing essential knowledge in legal aspects using everyday life applications.
