The Mission of the Rufus King Alumni Association is to facilitate communication among alumni and to strengthen their connection to Rufus King High School, promoting school spirit and supporting the excellence of its programs.
You can support the association through your membership, involvement and financial support. For more information on how to join, click "contact" in the menu above. The association has considered the following activities and initiatives as its focus: - Sponsorship of an annual picnic welcoming alums from all classes (three annual AlumFests held: 2003-2005).
- Creation and maintenance of an alumni database and directory (in progress).
- Circulation of a newsletter with information about alumni activities and school events (first issue published in February 2003).
- Assistance with class reunions, as needed.
- Establishment of an endowment for the provision of scholarships to outstanding graduates and for special projects for the school.
- Sponsorship of a mentor/networking program for current students and recent graduates.
- Sponsorship of an annual recognition dinner for alumni with extraordinary achievient and for presentation of scholarships to graduation seniors.
- Producing merchandise to allow alumni to proudly display their pride in their school!
- Published an alumni directory (December 2004).
