Greetings, [NAME]: here's what's happening at Rufus King!

 

The City of Milwaukee Youth Council is looking for committed young leaders between the ages of 14-18 to work for change.  The members represent students in their schools and neighborhoods.  In addition they meet with leaders like the Mayor, Common Council, and School Superintendent.  If you are interested in applying please see Ms. Mikell in guidance for an application.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Do you have extra or old toys? Are they in good and usable condition? Then your robotics team wants them! Starting next week Monday, the robotics team will be collecting toys to donate to The Women's Center of Milwaukee. The
toys can be used, but must have all their pieces and be in
a usable condition. Any stuffed animals that are free of stains, rips, and smells can also be donated. Thank You, Rufus King

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Hello students! Your FIRST Robotics team is starting its pre-season activities. This Saturday an event known as the Mentor Vex Challenge will be taking place from 8:30-3:30 in the gym at Rufus King high school. If you are interested in robotics we encourage you to come in for a sample of what it’s like. At noon we will introduce this year’s student VEX robotics challenge. If you would like more information about the student VEX robotics challenge, please stop by Mr. Jutrzonka’s room (room 133) for more information.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Journalists, it's that time of year. Our first work night for The King's Page is next Monday, August 23 from after school to 6 p.m. We will plan the first issue of the paper and discuss the work night schedule. If you intend to be on staff this year, you need to be present. Get in on the first amendment action: Be there or be square!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

PIZZA!  PIZZA!  PIZZA!  The girls' softball team will be selling pizza after school in the auditorium foyer.  The price is $1.50 per slice.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The football team is looking for more guys to come out for the team. Practices have already started.  Freshmen especially are encouraged to try out. The football team is also looking for managers and students who are interested in athletic training. If you are interested in playing football or being a manager, see Mr. Nolan or coach Wozniak in the basement after school.
