IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR THE CLASS OF 2011

The yearbook staff is working on the first deadline and needs all members of the class of 2011 to submit a senior picture, a non returnable baby picture, and 25-word maximum quote by September 22, 2010! 

Portraits should be a vertical “head shot”, and if you can’t dress like that at school, then you can’t dress like that in your yearbook portrait, common sense please. Senior portraits can be either a hard copy, wallet size or larger, or portraits can be submitted on a CD as a JPG file with a resolution of 300-400 DPI. Sorry we will not accept emailed portraits.

If your senior picture is being taken by Prestige, Prestige will submit your senior portrait for you. Your Senior pictures are due no later than October 13th if done by Prestige. Please plan ahead and make arrangements now if you have not already done so. Baby pictures, quotes and senior portraits not from Prestige are still due September 22.

These three items are mandatory in order to fill the layout that has been chosen for senior pages. Please drop your items off in the special collection box in room 120 during school. 

Please place your items in an envelope clearly labeled with your name. Be sure to print your name clearly on all three items. Sorry, pictures are not returned so color copies of baby pictures are fine, (recommended). If your pictures are not in by this deadline, we cannot guarantee that you will be represented in the senior pages. We are looking forward to working with all of you; see you sometime before September 22!

Rufus King Generals...its time to make your voices heard!  Consider running for the Rufus King Student Government Association.  All students are welcome to attend an informational meeting on Wednesday, September 8th at 3:00pm in Room 327.  Each class will elect a President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, and three At-Large positions.  Also, there will be a student body President, Vice-President, Secretary, and Treasurer.  Only students who attend the meeting on September 8th will be eligible to run for office. Yesterday the Girls' JV Tennis Team defeated MSL 8 to 3.  Winning singles matches for the Lady Generals were  Katrina, Katie, Amy, Thao Mee, and Lydia.  Winning doubles matches were Emma and Madison, Tristen and Kalilah, and Tammy and Desiree. 

Auditions and callbacks are today, Friday, after school in the Little Theatre, room 112.  If your name is on the list, outside the attendance office or outside room 104, YOU MUST SHOW UP or talk to a director or stage manager.  ANY ONE WHO HAS NOT YET AUDITIONED IS ENCOURAGED TO AUDITION TODAY,  especially males. Listen for further announcements next week regarding casting and rehearsal schedules.

Robots, robots, robots! The next robotics meeting is Wednesday, September 8, after school in room 126. You will learn some more about the team structure, the VEX robotics challenge, and the upcoming meeting at Bradley Tech.
There is a meeting the following day, too. On Thursday, September 9, we are having an all-team meeting at Bradley Tech at 6 pm. You will get to meet all the mentors for the team and the other students from Bradley Tech. Parents
are invited at this meeting.
