Rufus King Honored: Five Years Running |
|
|
State Superintendent of Schools Elizabeth Burmaster released her list of 163 Wisconsin schools to earn honors as New Wisconsin Schools of Recognition. Among the eight MPS schools honored, Rufus King has received the award for the fifth consecutive year -- longer than any other MPS school. The award, part of recognizing schools with consistent academic promise as part of the No Child Left Behind Act, is based on several criteria, including eligibility for Title I funding, a high poverty student population based on free and reduced price lunch data, above average academic achievement for the state in both reading and mathematics, and avoidance of being identified as a school in need of improvement.
