image020.jpgRufus King was named by the state Department of Public Instruction (DPI) as a 2005-06 New Wisconsin Promise School of Recognition. The designation is given to schools that meet a number of criteria, including consistent academic progress.

Each school must meet a combination of requirements to be recognized, including eligibility for Title I funding, a high poverty student population based on free and reduced price lunch data, above average academic achievement for the state in both reading and mathematics, and avoidance of being identified as a school in need of improvement.

Each school received recognition plaques and $1,500 for school use.
