John Nolan, CAA, is Rufus King's Athletic Director.  His office is located in the basement, east of the cafeteria.

Checking eligibility and clearing athletes is the athletic director’s responsibility.  Prior to a student being cleared, the following information must be verified:

1. GPA of at least 2.0 and no more than 1 failing grade;
2. Athletic Permit Card;
3. Physical Examination Card;
4. viewing of “Playing it Safe” tape;
5. payment of participation fee;
6. age:  may not be 19 before August 1
7. number of years in high school:   no more than 4
8. taking and passing 2.0 units.

When checked and cleared, the coach will be notified in writing through updated rosters or a clearance card that an athlete must give to the coach prior to practice and competition.  NO STUDENT MAY PRACTICE OR COMPETE WITHOUT ELIGIBILITY CLEARANCE!
